







RECIPE
Ingredients Pastry for 9" Double Crust Pie Crust6 cups peeled, sliced apples1 tablespoon lemon juice 3/4 cup sugar1/4 cup brown sugar2 tablespoons all purpose flour3/4 teaspoon cinnamon1/4 teaspoon salt1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Instructions:Preheat Oven to 450 degrees Make pastryLine pie pan with crust, prick with lots of fork marks to prevent crust from bubbling up...Combine apples and lemon juice in a large mixing bowlAdd sugars, flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg to applesmixing good.place evenly in pie pan

cover with top crush and shape edges or make fork marks pressing pie crusts together or you can use the tines of a fork.
Cut an X in center of crust and 5 to 6 slits around top of crust for steam to escape.
Cover edges of pie crust with strips of aluminum foil or use a shield like I did
Bake at 450 for 15 minutes
Turn oven down to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
Cool on rack
