     Welcome to my kitchen!
Let me bring you up to speed. This home was built in 1993. White sheet laminate it was..and still is.The cabinets were a oak, but have been stained to a dark cherry. The only thing I did to the kitchen was paint the walls. Yep, I went with a burnt orange.
Today I am so pleased to say..I have a brand new kitchen! {well...new to me} Come see!
I was very lucky that  Giani Granite allowed me try out one of their amazing countertop kits! I have had my eye on this product for over a year. I finally took the plunge and I am beyond happy with the results! ----------->  After

Take a look at her now! My gosh you guys I can't tell you how happy that "new do" makes me. My kitchen is bright and appears to be larger. And those counters are updated and popping!
Let's talk COUNTERS! I went with the White Diamond Kit from Giani Granite.
Everything you need is in the kit. The instructions are perfect and the dvd provides excellent pointers!
The entire process was easy, it really was. Take a look:

1. Tape and Prime (I applied 2 coats of primer, drying in-between} 2. Let primer dry overnight.3. Next, use the black paper included to "practice" on. 4. Start with paint can "A" and dab using the sponge, in no particular pattern.5. Continue with paint can "B" doing the same thing.6. Paint can "C" continue to dab over the other colors. 7. This is what it looks like without veining.8. To vein just use a small paint brush, water down some of the black primer, and run some veins through.9. Last roll on the top coat. {2 coats allow drying in-between}
I let my counters dry for 3 full days. I wanted to make sure they were fully ready for my counter appliances, and at that point they were.

I am in love.
Now for the PAINT...I wanted bright and clean.I wanted cabinets to pop and the new counters to shine. I went with Raffia Cream, it was perfect. Not only did I do my Kitchen, I also went all the way into my Breakfast Nook area.

It just makes me happy. What a fantastic Kitchen update on a budget. The power of paint amazes me, it changed my entire kitchen completely! Make sure you check out Giani Granite on Facebook! They have many different kits to choose from and also provide a cabinet paint that I have heard works wonders as well! In fact.. my girl Jess over at MOM 4 REAL just finished her cabinets and counters with Giani products as well... Go check it out!
